Become Africa’s Next Star! Emmy-nominated TV Producer, Derrick N Ashong launches The Mic Africa

Created by Emmy-nominated TV Producer, Host and MC, Ghana native Derrick N Ashong (DNA), this 8-episode, 30-minute, multi-platform interactive talent competition & docu-series, empowers fans to curate and amplify the competing artists that they love from 6 countries around Africa: 

• Ghana
• Kenya
• Mauritius
• Nigeria
• Rwanda
• South Africa 

TRACE TV will broadcast the show across Africa and the diaspora around the world, while regional partners, such as Nigeria’s Megalectrics, Ghana’s MultiMedia Group, and Kenya’s Radio Africa Group, will drive in-country engagement through multi-media promotions.

THE COMPETITION STARTS IN AUGUST                                                                                

THE SHOW WILL AIR WEEKLY STARTING IN SEPTEMBER WITH  A STAR-STUDDED ONE-HOUR FINALE IN MID-NOVEMBER

We are looking for Rappers, Singers, Breakdancers, Street Artists, and DJs to compete and represent your country in the show with a chance to make it to the 1-hour finale.   Finalists will have an amazing opportunity  to work with our in-country high-profile show filmmaker  to create a  high-production-value video which will be featured in the finale where only one artist will  win THE GOLDEN MIC and a cash prize..
