Please reduce the $150 PCR test at the airport for us we beg you- Stonebwoy to gov’t
Award-winning Reggae/Dancehall artiste, Stonebwoy has asked the government of Ghana to reduce the $150 mandatory PCR test for travellers at the Kotoka International Airport.
As per government’s effort to reduce the spread of Covid-19 in the country, all travellers are expected to take a mandatory PCR test on arrival following the reopening of the airport on September 1.
However, a lot of travellers including the “Everlasting” hitmaker have questioned the amount for the test.
According to Stonebwoy, he doesn’t understand why it is only in Ghana where travellers are expected to take another covid test on arrival after they have already taken tests in their departing countries before getting on board the plane.
1. So why is it that after you get your test done for 350 cedis or more from Ghana. You’re not mandated to pay for another test to be taken at your final destination by any other country. Its only Ghana that’s doing this to it’s people or all the other African countries have

He however, pleaded with government to reduce the price of the test to enable Ghanaians and non-Ghanaians in the diaspora who would love to visit home in December but can’t because of the $150 test.
@mohgovgh please reduce the $150 for us we beg you..
I’m speaking on behalf of the very ordinary Ghanaian traveller..
December holidays are around the corner many people will love to come home o.. that $150 is a quarter of their plane ticket— 1GAD (@stonebwoyb) November 9, 2020
