Nigerian singer, Davido has finally broken his silence on the death of his close associate, Obama DMW.

The afrobeat star took to his Instagram page on July 7 to pen down an emotional tribute to Obama DMW a week after his death.

Recall that Habeeb Uthman popularly known as Obama DMW died on the 29th of June, 2021 at a hospital in Lagos.

Obama had earlier complained of breathing difficulties of which he went to the hospital but couldn’t make it back to life.

After his death, Davido went silent on social media to mourn his lost friend. The singer, however, came back online and penned down an emotional tribute.

He wrote: ” This is by far the hardest thing I’ve had to write.

”I am hurt, broken, sad, and lost. For the first time in my life, I am EXTREMELY confused. The pain is one I cannot explain. 44 was more than an elder brother to me, he was a protector. He was someone that literally just always made me smile.

”He would do absolutely anything to make me smile, no matter the issue or problems I had. His response was always “Don’t worry, I’ll talk to them”, “Don’t worry I’ll sort it out”, “Don’t worry I’ll give them something”.

”I would never believe in a millions years I will be writing a tribute like this to someone so dear to me this soon. All my life it’s been “David you’re strong, David you’re strong”. 44 I won’t lie to you, this time around, this one WEAK ME!! I miss you so much 44.

“You became so peaceful. You ound peace and purpose, a true generational influence. I cannot even begin to count the amount of people you helped, artistes you brought to me, people you brought together in nothing but love and brotherhood.

”Actors, artistes, influencers all. God! 44 I swear you will never be forgotten. Up until now I cannot believe this is real, I don’t even know what I’m writing, I’m just writing. I’m just confused.

”This has been such a haunting week for all of us. All of us, me, his family, his son, his daughter, his brothers, his friends, a whole brotherhood; God give us all the strength. This isn’t even about me, it’s about all of us, and all the amazing plans and vision you had.

”44 I swear, I will not let a single one of your visions die.
It is hard getting by without you, my backbone is truly gone but I won’t stop making you proud. I promise to continue to take this thing we started together, to the ends of the earth. I promise to continue dominating the world.

”And to Malik, even though you are taller than me ❤️, you are basically my son. Doing so well in school, passing with flying colours. I have to be strong for you, and you have to be strong for the family, your mom and your grand mom. Everything 44 wanted to do for you, we will finish it together.

”44 MY FRIEND. May God accept you to His kingdom. I Love You.”

In a transformative initiative poised to make a lasting impact, On Saturday 2nd March, Jambo Spaces proudly launched Click4Change, a FREE digital skills training and public speaking program for underprivileged children in the vibrant Labadi community. In partnership with FTF Ghana, a dedicated NGO committed to nurturing the potential of young minds, Click4Change marks a significant step towards empowering the next generation with essential skills and confidence.

For the first cohort which will last a month,  Click4change is starting off with 20 children from La Wireless and La Nativity schools. Igniting a beacon of hope and opportunity in the lives of these bright-eyed eager learners, Click4Change is taking these children beneficiaries on a journey of discovery, delving into courses covering Microsoft Office tools, Google Work tools, and the art of public speaking. More than just technical skills, Click4Change aims to shape the thought process of these budding minds, equipping them with the digital fluency needed to thrive in the modern world.

The impact of Click4Change extends far beyond the classroom walls, as it fosters a sense of belonging, confidence, and self-belief among the children. Witnessing their newfound abilities to translate thoughts into digital creations fills the air with palpable excitement and joy, as dreams begin to take flight on the wings of possibility. But Click4Change is not a journey embarked upon alone. Significant to the partnership is FTF Ghana, who works closely with the schools to facilitate the selection of the children and is supporting the initiative with volunteer tutors. Not forgetting the unwavering support of other compassionate partners, this initiative has blossomed into a beacon of hope for the Labadi community. KFC, Twellium Industries, Nu Lambda Sigma, MyRunway Group, and Valerie Cares have joined hands with Jambo Spaces, providing meals, refreshments, stationery supplies, and transportation for the children, ensuring that no obstacle stands in the way of their pursuit of knowledge and empowerment.

“We envision a future where every child in the Labadi community has access to the transformative power of education and technology” Bernard Sokpe, Co-founder of Jambo Spaces said. He continued by saying “ Plans are underway to establish a dedicated Click4Change computer lab for the children to continue their learning journey long after the program concludes”. To ensure CLick4Change grows beyond this first edition, Jambo Spaces extends a heartfelt call to volunteers who want to support this initiative in any way by reaching out to info@jambospaces.com.
