60 Ghanaian Students Selected For ERASMUS+ Programme To Study In Europe
The European Union (EU) is proud to announce that 60 Ghanaian students have been selected for the prestigious Erasmus Mundus Joint Masters Degree (EMJMD) to pursue higher education in top academic institutions across Europe. A majority of the students will benefit from full scholarships to participate in the two-year programme.
The EMJMD is one of the initiatives under Erasmus+ that supports international mobility and contributes to strengthening Africa’s technical and higher education space.
The Master’s degree is a unique opportunity for students to broaden their career horizons, gain top-class knowledge, and develop global perspectives through studying in renowned European universities.
At a pre-departure event in Accra, EU Ambassador to Ghana, Irchad Razaaly, announced that the scholarship will offer students an opportunity to have an outstanding education and experience.
“EU is a key partner to Ghana on education including the Erasmus+ offering Ghanaian youth unique opportunity to gain top-level academic experience, but also diverse cultural experiences throughout your journeys in Europe.
He added; “I have no doubt this will shape your skills and character, preparing you for competitive and stimulating careers. I also hope that your experiences will fuel your inner leaders and change makers, and give you new insights on how to build better futures – both in Ghana and beyond.”
The selection process for the Erasmus Mundus Joint Masters Degree is a highly competitive one, with numerous qualified candidates from Ghana vying for the coveted opportunity.
The 60 selected Ghanaian students have demonstrated remarkable academic achievement, ambition and commitment to being ambassadors of Ghana throughout their educational journey in Europe.
The programme covers a wide range of disciplines, including STEM fields, humanities, social sciences, arts and business. This diverse representation reflects the EU’s commitment to enhancing education partnerships between Europe and Ghana and fostering exchange of knowledge and expertise in various domains.

The EU congratulates each of the 60 Ghanaian students on their achievement and extends them its best wishes as they embark on this life changing academic and cultural journey.
The Erasmus+ Joint Master’s Degree not only offers unparalleled academic opportunities, but also fosters cultural understanding, mutual respect, and the building of lifelong connections between Ghana and Europe.
The EU is strongly committed to promoting mobility, diversity and excellence in higher education through Erasmus+ and other education programmes in Africa and Ghana with the aim to nurture future leaders, foster global networks and create a more inclusive and interconnected world. With the Global Gateway, the EU is increasing investments in quality education and working with partner countries to strengthen cooperation on research and innovation.
The EU recently launched the Youth Mobility for Africa flagship initiative that in parallel to Erasmus+ includes additional opportunities to study abroad: the Intra-Africa Academic Mobility Scheme. This programme will support EU partner countries to transform their education systems and address deficits in teaching, training and learning
