The “Thank You Mr. DJ” hitmaker said this yesterday, November 22, 2018, whilst speaking at the Africa Music Business Summit(AMBS) held at the Ball Room of the Kempinski Hotel, Gold Coast City, as part of activities marking the 5th All Africa Music Awards(AFRIMA) which is being hosted in Ghana for the first time since it was established in 2014. Yvonne Chaka Chaka asked that managers should take their jobs serious and focus on unearthing talents rather than demanding for sexual favors. “Managers, please do not ask for sexual favours from your female signees, respect yourself, the arts and love it”, she said. She also cautioned female talents not to rush to become famous because they may fall into the hands of preys who would use them in exchange for fame. “Be what you want to be because you have what it takes, if you do not see yourself as worth managing then no one will take you serious. ‘I am where I am today because, I refused to let loose my pants. They were always tightly on so you see, not letting them down is not a difficult thing to do. “Make sure, you have the talent so that when the offers come to you, you will know your worth”, Yvonne added. The AMBS under the theme African Music in a Global Village: Leveraging the Opportunities was attended by stakeholders in the arts, culture and entertainment sectors such as music artiste/songwriters, music producers, record label owners, owners of publishing/entertainment companies, associations of music professional, policymakers in the art and culture sector, lawyers, journalists, students and many more. The main awards ceremony is set for Saturday, November 24, 2018 at the Accra International Conference Centre, AICC. It will be hosted by Ghanaian-born American actor and comedian, Michael Blackson, South Africa’s TV personality, Pearl Thusi, and Ghana’s media personality, Anita Erskine will host the star-studded world-class music event. The 5th AFRIMA, Ghana 2018 will be broadcast live to over 84 countries around the world.]]>
