However, with a few tweaks to your content promotion strategy, you can make sure more of your subscribers see your new videos as soon as you upload them. You can even get new viewers to stick around your channel and check out a few other videos as well.

Here’s how to drive traffic to your channel the day you upload.

1. Encourage your audience to turn on your post notifications on other social media.

YouTube introduced the post notification bell to ensure your subscribers would be notified of new video uploads, but the feature is notoriously flawed. Viewers and creators alike have complained that, even if they have post notifications turned on, subscribers still aren’t notified of new uploads.

However, you can circumvent this issue by encouraging your audience to turn on your post notifications on other social media platforms. Whenever you upload a new video, post the link to Twitter and Instagram to make sure your followers see. For ideas on how to get your followers to turn on post notifications, check out this post.

2. Stick to a strict video upload schedule.

If you upload your videos on a schedule, then your subscribers won’t even need post notifications to know when you upload. Try to be consistent with both the day and time you upload every week. To make sure new subscribers are aware of your upload schedule, put something along the lines of “new videos every Tuesday and Thursday at 8 p.m. EST” in your channel banner or about section.

As soon as you upload a new video and post about it, start replying to your fans. Respond to as many comments and tweets as you can. Interact more with followers who share the link to your new video with their own followers.
