My family wasn’t rich, I changed our status with music – Wizkid reveals
Nigerian musician, song-writer and record producer Wizkid revealed in an interview he granted British Model, Naomi Campbell that, he wasn’t born into a rich family.
Wizkid, who is currently one of the richest African musicians, said that he became successful through music. And as a result, he’s been able to change the plight of his family.
Some may assume the Nigerian born musician, was ‘born with a silver spoon in his mouth’. But he revealed, that wasn’t the situation for him, and that, if he hadn’t chosen a career in music, he probably may have ended up on the streets of Nigeria.
During the interview, Naomi revealed that, Wizkid is a ‘cheerful giver’, who likes to walk around with lots of cash, with the purpose of giving it out to people.
“I am not from a rich family and I wasn’t raised with a silver spoon so I feel I was blessed so I can be a blessing to my family and to those around me.
“I believe if I wasn’t making music I would have been on the streets hustling like every other kid,” Wizkid explained to Naomi.

Burna Boy cancels Netherlands concert, promises tickets refund
The highly anticipated concert by Grammy-winning Nigerian artist Burna Boy, slated for June 9th at the Johan Cruyff Arena Stadium in the Netherlands, has been called off.
Burna Boy personally relayed the disappointing news via his Instagram account, citing the event organizers’ failure to uphold their part of the agreement as the reason behind the cancellation.
Expressing his regret over the situation, Burna Boy assured fans that ticket holders would receive full refunds directly from their original point of purchase within the next 30 days.
In an Instagram post on Thursday, May, 2, 2024 the ‘On the low’ hitmaker emphasized the importance of fulfilling contractual obligations and thanked his fans for their support, signing off with a message of love and anticipation for future gatherings.
“We regret to inform you that due to a failure by the event organisers to meet their contracted obligations, Burna Boy’s concert at the stadium on June 9th 2024 has been cancelled.
“All ticket buyers will be refunded from the point of purchase within 30 days. Love you and see you soon,” he wrote.
