The COVID-19 pandemic has brought a lot of change to our lives. Social distancing rules mean we supposed to spend more time inside and many still can’t get used to it. One way of passing time during the pandemic is to come up with fun indoor games to play with your loved ones. The best thing about it is that there are so many games you can choose from. In case you need some help with deciding what to play, here’s our list of top five indoor games to play during the pandemic.

Cards Against Humanity

Cards Against Humanity is a relatively new game that has seen instant success. It’s extremely fun and it might be exactly what you need to pass time until the pandemic is over. In case you haven’t heard about it, Cards Against Humanity involves using a deck of cards to fill in phrases and come up with all sorts of fun scenarios. The funniest part is that the cards come with phrases that are typically deemed as offensive or politically incorrect. Cards Against Humanity sets come with over 500 cards, meaning that you’ll get to play the game for days. If you want to do something different, you can go all-DIY style and create new cards based on your loved ones’ personalities. You can find instructions on how to make your own Cards Against Humanity sets online.

Worms Rumble

Worms is one of the world’s most popular tactical video games. The franchise has been around since 1995 and it has seen its most recent installment released in December 2020. However, unlike its predecessors, Worms Rumble is a 2.5D real-time action game. What this means is that you get a chance to face your Worms opponents in an entirely new way. The game comes with several game modes, including a mode called Last Squad Standing. If you have multiple devices in your home, this mode is exactly what you’re looking for, as you get to play with your household members as a team. Worms Rumble is available on Windows, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation 5 and the cross-platform play function is enabled. The game is also a perfect solution for those looking to spend some time with their friends online and hang out during the pandemic.

(Reversed) Charades

Charades is a classic game that simply had to find its way onto this list. One of the reasons why this game is so popular is that it’s suitable to play with absolutely everyone. So, whether you’re playing with your kids or your roommates that you don’t know well enough, having fun is guaranteed. Also, the game is quite easy to prepare for and you can start playing in no time. All you need to do is come up with as many words as you can and put them in a container. In case you think traditional charades isn’t fun, you can always play reverse charades. Basically, what this means is that there’s only one person guessing while the rest of the team is acting out a word written on the card. With an entire group of people making fools of themselves, you’ll be guaranteed to laugh even harder.

Games of Chance

Even if you’ve never played games of chance before, this may be the perfect time to start. Online casinos have been a thing for quite a while and it looks like they’re doing even better since the pandemic started. This is mostly because most casino players have replaced going to the local casino with playing online. As a result, iGaming providers have come up with even more online casino games for their players. So, no matter what theme you’re looking for, there are games for you out there. For example, if you’re looking to play medieval gambling games online, there are a number of games you can choose from. Some other popular options include Marvel casino games, Game of Thrones casino games, and more. Most of the online casino games available right now are relatively easy and getting into it shouldn’t be tough. Some iGaming providers even give you a chance to test a game before spending real money on it.

Monopoly

Monopoly is another classic game that may be exactly what we all need during the pandemic. It’s just that Monopoly is as a game anyone who has ever dealt with money can relate to. Plus, there’s just something about dealing and wheeling with your friends and family. If you don’t have your own monopoly set, you can order one online and have it deliver to your doorstep. For those who are into DIY, creating your own monopoly can also be a fun challenge. If you already own traditional monopoly and want to try something new, you might want to check out themed-monopoly editions. Stranger Things edition, Cheaters edition, and Star Wars Complete Saga edition are just some of the versions you can get. For those separated from their loved ones during the pandemic, there are online versions of the game that are equally fun, some of which can be played on mobile devices.

Over to you

Hopefully, the coronavirus pandemic will end soon and we’ll get to forget about social distancing rules. Until that happens, we all keep coming up with new ways to have fun at home. Start with these five awesome ideas and staying in will be just as fun as going out.
