Photos: Kidi tops 2022 Ghana Music Awards with 4 nods

The 2022 Vodafone Ghana Music finale has been held at the Grand Arena of the Accra International Conference, with Sugar boy, Kidi winning all of the top awards including Artist of the Year, Album of the Year and Most Popular song of the year. PHOTO 2022 05 08 08 19 37 2

The ceremony also saw the new ‘it boy’ of the music industry, Black Sherif winning New Artist of the Year as well as  Hiphop Song of the Year. PHOTO 2022 05 08 08 19 37

Stonewboy returned to the award scheme after being banned in 2019 to winning wins. He won a total of 3 awards including Reggae/Dancehall Artist of the Year, Vodafone Green Award, and the Music for Good prize.

The VGMA finale also saw performances from Kidi, Mr Drew, King Promise, S3fa, Black Sherif, and more. The night was opened with a nostalgia-filled performance from hiplife veteran Obrafuor.

The programme took place on May 6, 2022 and May 7, 2022.The technical awards were presented on the first day of the event while the Day 2 catered for popularity based awards.
