Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie to settle winery battle out of court

Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie will settle the vicious $350 million fight over their French winery out of court, according to multiple reports.

Pitt and Jolie both filed to hash out the dispute through mediation, TMZ reported Thursday.

Brangelina started their divorce process in 2016 and were declared legally single in 2019, but their lives were so intertwined during the happy decade of their relationship that the divorce has not been finalized.

A major sticking point has been control of Chateau Miraval, the winery in southern France they bought together in 2008.

In 2019, Jolie decided to sell her ownership stake in Chateau Miraval. Pitt said he agreed to the sale but noted that founding documents gave him the power to veto any buyer.

However, he claims that Jolie went through with a sale to Russian oligarch Yuri Shefler’s Stoli Group without his approval. Pitt sued to undo the transaction, while Jolie has fought for it to be upheld, arguing Pitt never had the power he claimed.

Jolie further alleged in court that she initially intended to sell her stake directly to Pitt, but he would only buy if Jolie signed a nondisclosure agreement concerning domestic violence allegations.

Just last month, Jolie claimed that Pitt was sabotaging and “looting” the winery to devalue it during the court proceedings.

“Pitt wasted the company’s assets, spending millions on vanity projects, including more than $1 million on swimming pool renovations, building and rebuilding a staircase four times, and spending millions to restore a recording studio,” read Jolie’s recent court filing.

The two estranged stars are also still working to finalize a child custody agreement to complete their divorce.
