‘I’m still waiting for your call’- Yvonne Nelson to her unknown dad
After almost four decades of not knowing who her father is, Ghanaian actress, Yvonne Nelson is still patiently waiting to meet him.
Yvonne, 37, grew up without knowing who her father is, and recently, in her memoir, she shared the many controversies surrounding who her real dad is.
While she is yet to solve the mystery surrounding who her real father is, Yvonne is still keeping hope alive, while waiting for him to show up someday.
In a tweet on Thursday, October 12, the award-winning actress and movie producer shared that she was longing for her father’s phone call.
“Father, DAD, Iâm still waiting for your call,” she tweeted.

In her memoir “I am not Yvonne Nelson” Yvonne Nelson shared that she had always expressed her anger towards the late Mr Oko Nelson, who she thought was her supposed father.
In her explosive memoir, the actress dedicated a chapter to addressing her âdaddy issuesâ and apologizing to the man she vehemently felt anger towards.
âI do not know where to begin this and what it will achieve, but I feel strongly about it. I know I have to do it. I feel I owe you an apology, even if the timing is wrong and my apology may mean nothing to you.
âBut, wherever you are, find a place in your heart to forgive me. I became resentful towards you because of what my mother told me about you. I had no reason to doubt her because when I made attempts to get close to you, your rejection only confirmed her claim that you didnât like me,” she wrote.
Yvonne Nelson, also shared in the memoir that there were times when her mom would blatantly tell her she was conceived by âmistake.â
âWhen my mother was angry with me and really wanted to hurt me, she would tell me she had given birth to me by mistake. Whenever she said it, she knew how I felt. She knew she was driving a sharp nail into my heart. I could feel she really wanted to hurt me. Maybe, she was just being truthful. By so doing, however, she wounded my spirit, and that unhealable wound served as a constant reminder that all was not well with me,â she wrote.

Telecel supports TGMAâs Music for Good Award to recognise social impact of musicians
Charterhouse, organisers of the Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMAs), has announced Telecel Ghana as the new category sponsor of the Music for Good award. The honourary award aims to reward and amplify the positive social change made by musicians beyond their craft.
As part of its ongoing transition to Telecel Ghana, the telecoms giant is rolling out a series of rebranded initiatives including merging the Green Award into the existing Music for Good award. The winner of the Music for Good award will be revealed at the grand climax of the TGMAs on Saturday, 1st June and presented with a recognition plaque and a cheque of 20,000 Ghana cedis towards their impact project.
The Music for Good award will recognise an artiste who released a song in the year under review and went beyond their music to contribute significantly to a social cause, including but not limited to youth mentorship, health, education, economic empowerment, social development, and environmental initiatives.
The decision to merge the Green Award with the existing Music for Good award was reached to celebrate the wider contributions of musicians to their communities, shifting the sole focus from environmental efforts to the broader spectrum of social impact.
Ing. Patricia Obo-Nai, CEO of Telecel Ghana, the headline sponsor of the TGMAs indicated that supporting the Music for Good award shows the TGMAs commitment to celebrating musicians who use their influence to push for positive change and add value to the lives of people and communities.Â
âWe believe musicians have the talent and power to inspire, connect, change lives and communities positively. The Music for Good category will celebrate and honour musicians who go above and beyond in using their influence for the greater good,â Patricia said.
The Music for Good award will shine the spotlight on musicians who have leveraged their fame and influence for tangible impact.
