While she is yet to solve the mystery surrounding who her real father is, Yvonne is still keeping hope alive, while waiting for him to show up someday.

“Father, DAD, I’m still waiting for your call,” she tweeted.

In her memoir “I am not Yvonne Nelson” Yvonne Nelson shared that she had always expressed her anger towards the late Mr Oko Nelson, who she thought was her supposed father.

In her explosive memoir, the actress dedicated a chapter to addressing her “daddy issues” and apologizing to the man she vehemently felt anger towards.

“I do not know where to begin this and what it will achieve, but I feel strongly about it. I know I have to do it. I feel I owe you an apology, even if the timing is wrong and my apology may mean nothing to you.

“But, wherever you are, find a place in your heart to forgive me. I became resentful towards you because of what my mother told me about you. I had no reason to doubt her because when I made attempts to get close to you, your rejection only confirmed her claim that you didn’t like me,” she wrote.

Yvonne Nelson, also shared in the memoir that there were times when her mom would blatantly tell her she was conceived by “mistake.”

“When my mother was angry with me and really wanted to hurt me, she would tell me she had given birth to me by mistake. Whenever she said it, she knew how I felt. She knew she was driving a sharp nail into my heart. I could feel she really wanted to hurt me. Maybe, she was just being truthful. By so doing, however, she wounded my spirit, and that unhealable wound served as a constant reminder that all was not well with me,” she wrote.
