Award-winning Ghanaian musician, Darlington Kwasi Agyekum, known in the showbiz industry as Dr Cryme has asserted that winning the Grammy Awards isn’t necessarily about singing in the English language.

According to him, winning the prestigious award is about hardwork and connections on the part of artists.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with Property FM’s Amansan Krakye, the ‘Kill Me Shy’ hitmaker, stated that Angelique Kidjo and Youssou N’Dour won Grammys by singing in their indigenous languages.

“I think that winning the Grammys is about hard work that will get us there but I don’t think it’s necessarily about singing in English.

“The likes of Angelique Kidjo used her indigenous language to sing but she’s won a lot of Grammy Awards including Youssou N’Dour.I think these people have made a lot of impact at the Grammy Awards and I believe it’s not singing in English that took them there,” he said.

He continued by saying; “Your indigenous language can help you to win the Grammy Awards but most of all it is about working hard and getting the proper connections.
