I’m the king of kings of Ghanaian music; Sarkodie and others look up to me – Kwaw Kese

Famed Ghanaian Hiplife artiste, Emmanuel Kofi Botchwey, known professionally as Kwaw Kese has boldly stated that he is the “King of Kings” of Ghanaian music.

Speaking in an exclusive interview on Joy Prime’s Prime Morning, the self-proclaimed monarch of music in Ghana asserted his dominance in the music industry, adding that even renowned artistes such as Sarkodie, Black Sherif, King promise  and others look up to him.

According to Kwaw, almost all Ghanaian secular musicians, including celebrated rapper, Sarkodie, take inspiration from the works he has produced over the years.

The multiple award-winning singer and songwriter, known for his dynamic and genre-defying style, believes he has carved a niche for himself in the Ghanaian music scene. From his early days, he has been a trendsetter, pushing boundaries and challenging the status quo. His confidence shines through as he declares his supremacy, suggesting that his influence extends beyond merely creating music.

“When it comes to Ghana music, I’m the King of Kings. It’s been 20 years, and my song is still number one. Which king again? We have the king of the dancehall, the king Sark, and all the other kings, but who is the king of all these people? I am the king. They all look up to me,” he boasted

The ‘Abodam’ hitmaker further implied that whatever the current crop of artistes are doing, he has already done and experienced them.

He went on to speak about how people compare him to lunatics, due to his alleged intake of cannabis. Kwaw Kese said he is “a beautiful madman” who is rich and responsible.

“I’m driving a nice car and dressing nice. I don’t eat from the gutters, my kids go to better schools, and I take care of my family,” he added.

That notwithstanding, the famous rapper said he has stopped smoking due to his current age and for health purposes.
