Leila Djansi calls for Chef Smith’s cancellation over fake Guinness world record

Ghanaian filmmaker Leila Djansi has demanded that Chef Smith be canceled after he admitted to fabricating a Guinness World Record.

In a recent Facebook post, Djansi criticized the public’s lenient response to Chef Smith’s apology, arguing that it undermines accountability. Labeling him a ‘psychopath,’ she condemned his actions for trivializing the achievements of genuine record holders and insisted that apologizing should not absolve him of the consequences. Djansi urged the public to reject Chef Smith’s offerings and stressed that making him face repercussions would serve as a deterrent to others.

The controversy began after Chef Smith’s much-publicized attempt at the Guinness World Record for the Longest Cooking Marathon by an individual in March 2024. He held a press conference at La Palm Beach Hotel to announce his recognition, only to later admit that he had fabricated the achievement.
