Validate Our Struggles– Stonebwoy Calls for Government Commitment to Fight Galamsey
Ghanaian dancehall star, Stonebwoy, has added his voice to the ongoing protests against illegal mining (galamsey) and the detention of Democracy Hub members, urging the government to take immediate and concrete action.
In a post on X, formerly Twitter on Friday, October 4, 2024, the multiple award-winning singer and songwriter expressed solidarity with the demonstrators, emphasizing the importance of fighting for the future of Ghana.
The ‘Jejereje’ singer went on to call on both current and future leadership to validate the struggles of the citizens by presenting detailed plans to address pressing issues like galamsey, which has devastated the country’s environment.
“We implore Gov’t or leadership (incoming or outgoing) to just validate our struggles by showing detailed plans on how to tackle the very pressing issues, such as ‘GALAMSEY’ that face us as Ghanaians and RIGIDLY COMMIT to it,” he urged.

Stonebwoy also highlighted other issues, including the deteriorating condition of the Korle Bu mortuary, adding that these concerns should not be overlooked in the broader fight for a better Ghana.
