Accra To Host International Hair and Beauty Expo, December 29 to 31

expoOver 40 hairstylists, exhibitors, distributors and cosmetology students will gather at the Accra Mall from the 29th to 31st of December 2013 to showcase their  products and services, the  event is dubbed International Hair and Beauty Expo which will attract major local and international  companies in the  beauty industry. There will  be Nail competition, Barbers Competition , Creative Weave competition, Styling competition, Music  and Comedy Performances  and a  three day seminar  on issues affecting Ghana’s beauty industry a long with training for people who wants to a start a  business or grow their businesses, learn how to apply make-up correctly and how to live an healthy lifestyle. The seminar is opened for hair dressers, salon owners, students and the general public. The seminars will be held at Silver Bird Cinema.  Shoppers at the Expo will have an array of discounted beauty products and services to choose from. The speakers of the seminar will be Dr Reginald Mitchell Educator for Namaste, Thomas Dye an International Make-Up Artist, Dr Sharita N.D a wholistic Life Consultant and Kate Nkansa-Dwamena a business consultant and Managing Director of Zhest Consult. Thomas Dye, is an American celebrity make-up artist who has worked with a lot of American superstars including Beyonce Knowles, Destiny’s Child, supermodel Iman, and at Christian Dior and Dolce & Gabbana runway shows. He has also worked backstage at numerous award shows in America. Dr. Reginald Mitchell is currently the Director of Education for Namasté Laboratories LLC, manufacturers of Organic ROOT Stimulator. His client list has included such companies as the Department of Social Security, AT&T, IBM, Avlon Products (Affirm), Bronner Bros., Soft Sheen Products, and various fashion event sponsors throughout the United States and Canada. Dr. Mitchell presents his classes as a creative genius instructing the intricacies of healing for the hair, skin and body, naturally. Dr Sharita is a Wholistic Lifestyle Consultant from the US now living in Ghana who specializes in iridology, reiki, detoxification, Nutritional programs, Weight loss, Herbal Solutions, Wholistic and the Founder of ACAWF, African Culture and Wellness Festival and Vegan All Stars . She has been helping people heal themselves through herbal medicine, natural foods and exercise for over 30 years. Ms Kate Nkansa-Dwamena, a business consultant trained in South Africa, she trains individuals and  companies on topics like Customer service, debt collection, building effective teams and also helps SME’s create their strategic goals and objective, she is passionate about training SME’s in Ghana. There will be a VVIP section for businessmen to network; ten inventors from Turkey will be at the Expo to seek partnership with Ghanaian entrepreneurs to distribute hair and beauty products in Ghana. Exhibition sections will include Nails, Hair, Health and Fitness, Education, Skin Care, Spa, Make-Up, Equipment and beauty products. The Expo will start at 9am to 9pm each day, International Hair and Beauty Expo (IHBE) will offer everything needed for progressive cosmetologists to increase their business and professional skills in today’s demanding beauty market. Former Black Stars captain Stephen Appiah is set to enter the political fray by rubbing shoulders with notable personalities in the upcoming general elections.

The former Juventus midfielder is believed to be lacing his boots to face the likes of John Dumelo and the incumbent member of Parliament for the Ayawaso West Wuogon Constituency Lydia Alhassan.

While Dumelo and Alhassan represents the NDC and NPP respectively, Appiah is expected feature in the elections as an independent candidate.

This was revealed by the Spokesperson of the Ayew family Fiifi Tackie via X on Friday afternoon.

“Stephen Appiah to contest Ayawaso West Wuogon constituency as an independent Parliamentary candidate,” he wrote.

If Stephen Appiah affirms the reported news, he will be following in the footsteps of other renowned figures in Ghana football who have indulged in politics recently.

Earlier this year, all-time top scorer of the Black Stars Asamoah Gyan was appointed as the sub-committee chair of Youth and Sports in the campaign committee of Dr Bawumia, the flagbearer of the ruling New Patriotic Party.

In acceptance of the appointment, Gyan emphasised the need to share hos ideas garnered through experience in the game.

Another figure in Ghana football who recently announced his intention to engage in partisan politics is Kwesi Nyantakyi, former Ghana Football Association (GFA).

The former football administrator showed up as one of the candidates to contest in the NPP primaries for the Ejisu constituency following the demise of incumbent John Kumah.

However, it didn’t pan out well for the former Wa All Stars owner as he lost disappointingly.

He garnered a paltry 35 votes after close to 1,081 delegates had cast their votes in the parliamentary primary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) held in the Ejisu Constituency on April 13.
