Zimbabwe’s Wendall and Nigeria’s Karen have been crowned the double winners for the Big Brother Amplified reality TV series Sunday evening after three months of exciting antics, scheming, fights and some attempts to find love.  They both won 200,000 USD each.

Since M-net made the announcement that there would be two winners for this season, many tipped Karen and South Africa’s Luclay to win and therefore Wendall’s victory may have come as a surprise for some.  Luclay was however in the third position when the final evictions were made. Out of the 7 finalists, Vina was first to leave, followed by Hanni, Sharon O and Lomwe in that order until Karen and Wendall were announced as winners. Although the crowd knew Karen and Wendall had won the casj prize when they were the last housemates standing, the pair was not in the know that indeed Big Brother Amplified would have two winners.

Here is how Africa voted:

Karen: 6 country votes – Nigeria, Angola, Rest of Africa, Ghana, Mozambique, Tanzania

Wendall: 4 country votes – Zambia, Zimbabwe, Namibia, Kenya

Luclay: 2 country votes – South Africa, Botswana

Lomwe: 1 country vote – Malawi

Sharon O: 1 country vote – Uganda

Hanni: 1 country vote – Ethiopia

Vina: 0 Country Votes.

In addition to the finale including the biggest prize in the history of the show, it also saw performances from  six of Africa’s hottest performers – the incredible Fally Ipupa from the DRC,  Nigeria’s sensational WizKid and Mo’Cheddah, South Africa’s Professor and Speedy, plus Tanzania’s Cpwaa. Joining them on stage were all the previously evicted Big Brother Amplified housemates and the Big Brother Amplified dance crew. DJ Black from Ghana will also manned the decks and is expected to play at the after party.
