The late Kwadwo Akwaboah, aka Akwaboah Snr. a revered figure in the highlife music scene, will be given a poignant farewell in his hometown of Trede, in the Ashanti region.

The schedule includes a wake-keeping ceremony on September 29th, with his body lying in state on September 30th in Trede.
The main burial service will be held at Heroes Park, Kumasi Sports Stadium, followed by the final resting place in Trede. A Thanksgiving service on October 1st will celebrate his life and contributions.
Akwaboah Jnr, his son, has invited prominent musicians to join in this tribute. Kwadwo Akwaboah’s legacy lives on in the hearts of music enthusiasts, making these ceremonies a fitting tribute to his timeless melodies and soulful compositions.
Kwadwo Akwaboah’s passing on May 16, 2023, marked the end of an era in highlife music, leaving behind a timeless legacy that will be celebrated during these ceremonies.
