Anastasia Gorshkova: Biography and the creative way of the designer and sculptor

The talent showed itself in Anastasia Alekseevna  Gorshkova at an early age. Her sculptures were first exhibited at school, then at city exhibitions. Today Gorshkova is a successful designer.

Childhood and Youth

Anastasia Gorshkova was born on March 13, 1987, in the Ural town of Serov, located in the Sverdlovsk region. Her father – Alexei Nikolaevich – a professional artist, and her mother – Lyudmila Georgievna – a former figure skater. Soon after the birth of their daughter, the family moved to Moscow. Anastasia’s parents live here now.

Anastasia’s creative biography began as a child. Interestingly, her love for art first manifested itself in the process of molding pelmeni, which was the crown dish of her family. The future designer treated the preparation of this dish as a work of art; she loved to see the results of her work. Then she began modeling with salt dough – this material in the hands of the girl turned into an absolute masterpiece. With time, she began working on the potter’s wheel, and her work was displayed at school, district, and local exhibitions.

From an early age, Gorshkova Anastasia Alekseevna also showed an aptitude for decorating. She was only 12 when she helped her parents make actual designer renovations to their apartment. The girl chose colors and interior items and made the arrangement, which delighted Alexei and Lyudmila. Then they realized this was not just a child’s hobby but almost a professional interest of their daughter.

In 2002, Anastasia Alekseevna Gorshkova was transferred from a secondary school to a specialized school for gifted children – the Moscow Academic Art Lyceum of the Russian Academy of Arts (currently the Moscow Central School of Fine Arts).

Two years later, Gorshkova became a student in the sculpture department of the V.I. Surikov Art Institute in Moscow.

The career of artist Anastasia Gorshkova

During her student years, Anastasia Alekseevna Gorshkova began decorating the apartments of family friends. Her projects so liked the first customers that they began recommending the novice designer to their acquaintances. The girl also offered clients her works of authorship – sculptures, installations, and decorations, which fitted perfectly into the interior.

The money Anastasia earned from design projects was enough for her numerous travels. A Moscow State Academic Institute student, she toured almost all of Europe. Those were more like creative trips: she visited museums and exhibitions and made acquaintances with local artists. Sometimes she also brought her works, which she was happy to exhibit and sell locally.

After graduating from high school in Moscow, Gorshkova Anastasia went to Europe again, this time for an apprenticeship. She became acquainted with the work of contemporary artists from Vienna and Berlin and studied at a number of art schools. Today she creates non-trivial works, often made at the intersection of different styles.

Her main income comes from creating decorations and developing full-scale design projects for cafes and restaurants. Her clients include establishments in Amsterdam, Berlin, Vienna, Bratislava, and Prague.

Gorshkova also contributes to the arts. The designer makes sets for small European art house theaters for token sums. According to the master, she does it not for the money – it is essential to her to support such groups.

Anastasia Alekseevna Gorshkova also helps young talented children. She opened her studio school in Moscow, whose students learn new skills and adopt the experience of the master, trained by the best teachers in Russia and Europe. At the same time, teenagers from low-income families and orphanages, whose work has impressed the management and staff of the studio, do not pay for classes.

Designer Anastasia Alekseevna Gorshkova is married to a citizen of Austria. Currently, the couple has no children.
