Bawumia unveils plans to boost Creative Arts Industry, promises Tax Incentives
During a public address at the University of Professional Studies (UPSA) in Accra, New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, outlined his vision for Ghana’s creative industries under the theme ‘Ghana’s Next Chapter: Selfless Leadership and Bold Solutions for the Future.’
Dr. Bawumia’s key proposals include offering tax incentives to film producers and musicians to stimulate production and attract investment. Additionally, he pledged to establish digital platforms for Ghanaian artists to broaden their reach and potential income opportunities.
Dr. Bawumia emphasized his commitment to bolstering tourism by enhancing initiatives such as the Year of Return and Beyond the Return. He also proposed streamlining visa processes through an e-visa policy to facilitate tourism and job creation. These measures collectively aim to foster growth and innovation within Ghana’s creative sectors while positioning the country as a cultural hub on the global stage.
