Call for Applications: Africans Rising Champion on Anti- Corruption competition



Africans Rising for Justice, Peace and Dignity, invites African activists championing the fight against corruption across the continent and beyond to apply for the  ‘Anti-Corruption Champion’ competition which is meant to create awareness on African corruption fighters and give them the opportunity to work with other activists across the continent. Submissions from the activists can be in the form of a Song, Poem, Video, Article, Event or Caricature but focused on raising denouncing corruption and holding leaders accountable.   Rules for Participation Below are the rules for the competition. 1.      Have nationality of any African Country or be an African-Descent. 2.      Be a member of the Africans Rising or become a member by signing up on our website 3.      Submitted work must be themed on Corruption and focused on Africa 4.      Work submitted must be Original and owned by the author or his organisation 5.      Submissions must be on works being done or completed and must have the applicant directly involved in implementing the project. 6.      Applicants can submit their project till August 10th, 2018 7.      4 finalists will be announced on August 15th, 2018 8.      Members of the Africans Rising movement will vote for the candidates and the one with the highest number of votes will win the competition. 9.     Voting will open from August 15th-25th 10.   Winner will be announced on August 31st   Qualified Materials for Submission 1.      Video 2.      Podcast 3.      Article 4.      Poem 5.      Blog 6.      Event   Language Entries can be submitted in English or French   Prizes Winner of the contest will become an Anti-Corruption Ambassador for the Africans Rising Movement and will receive Travel & Lodging paid trip to participate in the 2018 Africans Rising Activists in Residence program.   About Activists-in-Residence Activists-in-Residence (AiR) is a four weeks residency program initiated by the Africans Rising for Justice, Peace and Dignity and the Training Centre for Development Cooperation (TCDC). The AiR programme provides an opportunity for activists to engage their peers from other countries across the African continent to deepen their understanding of their local struggles through other activists’ lenses. Interactions taking place during the programme will aim to enhance the skills of activists, to more effectively participate in ongoing structural and systemic change efforts.
