chempheIt appears that award winning Ghanaian singer, Chemphe, is set to have a busy and productive year. The Ghana Music Award winner is set to rock the world in Europe as the headline act for the KFUK KFUM Global, TT Global Festival in Norway. His invitation comes at a time when he’s gearing up for the release of a double album, which he hopes would inspire and change the world through music.

Chemphe will perform the theme song, an inspirational song which he purposely designed to capture the total vision of the Organization for the year 2011. The overall international theme for the year is ‘Together for Change’ with a specific campaign team as ‘Stop poverty’. ‘Global Citizen’ is a song that captures the totality of rhythm, message, and vocal dexterity to send the message of change, love, faith, hope and unity. The song which is produced by Ghana’s Killbeats and Nigeria’s Josh has lyrics like: “I see you, I see me… we can make this world a better place… I see blacks, I see whites joining hands together now…cos we are global citizens”.

Statistics indicate that 35.000 children are dying every day as a result of poverty. Today many global policies are profit-friendly, not people friendly. The global Y movement has the capacity to change this. Thus Chemphe has been chosen to sing and through his music draw the attention of the world to this particular problem. Chemphe also has a new single ‘Change is Gonna Come’ which he’ll be releasing as part of his double album launch in Norway.

“We are delighted that Chemphe has chosen to launch his New Day album at TT.  It is also a time to appeal to young people to work together to change the world, and specifically to be part of Global/Africa Alliance Stop Poverty Campaign. We believe this is the best time for the album launch. The General Secretary of the Norwegian YMCA, Ms Adelheid F. Hvambsal will introduce Chemphe and his work and vision and declare the album launched. Chemphe will then have the chance to play some songs from the album”, said the organizers.

Chemphe will get the chance to meet the Finance Minister of Norway, perform alongside some of the biggest musicians in Europe and interact with other dignitaries as well.  He comments: “I am delighted to be a part of this great festival. My music has always carried a strong message and I think that’s why God blessed me with a GMA with my first album. After being in Hong Kong and other places on a similar assignment, I just hope and pray that everything goes on smoothly. I’m working hard to be the musical Mandela”.

Other songs on the albums include ‘Hidden Emotions’, ‘Heart of a Winner’, ‘Like Hell on Earth’, ‘One People’ and ‘Why’. The albums, an inspirational one titled ‘New Day’ and a love album titled ‘Hidden Emotions’ will be released simultaneously on the same day to a global audience in Norway. Tic Tac, Trigmatic and Dr. Chryme are all featured on Chemphe’s new albums. The albums will then be launch later this year In Ghana.
