dbanj verifed on facebookGetting verified on twitter is no longer a big deal, soon African stars will be looking to bragging with their star power through facebook verification. D’Banj has become the first Nigerian celeb (don’t have enough information as to the rest of Africa yet)  to verified on Facebook. He becomes the second Nigerian with  President Goodluck Jonathan being the first.

His account with Facebook now carries a ‘blue tick’ sign to show the authentic account of the singer and distinguish it from parody accounts of D’Banj. Some well-known public figures and Pages with large followings are verified by Facebook as having an authentic identity. These profiles and Pages may include celebrities, journalists, government officials, popular brands and businesses. Facebook verifies profiles or Pages to help users be sure that they are who they claim to be.

So who will be the first Ghanaian celeb to hit this? I have a feeling it will be Sarkodie of Yvonne Nelson.
