E.T Mensah dead at age 77

Enoch Teye Mensah (ET), a seasoned politician and a former Member of Parliament for Ningo Prampram, has passed away at the age of 77.

He passed away on Sunday night in South Africa, where he was receiving medical attention.

E.T. Mensah, was member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), and served in a number of positions, including that of mayor of Accra, minister of youth and sports, minister of education, and councillor of state for the Greater Accra Region.

During the 1996 General Election, E.T. Mensah was chosen to serve in the Second Parliament of the Fourth Republic of Ghana. He remained the Ningo Prampram MP until 2016, when he was defeated by Samuel Nartey George in the NDC’s parliamentary primary.

Meanwhile, former First Lady Theresa Kufuor has also passed on.

She is reported to have passed away on Sunday, October 1.

She served as the First Lady of Ghana from January 7, 2001 to January 6, 2009.

She assumed the role after her husband succeeded Jerry John Rawlings as the President of the Republic of Ghana.

While serving as First Lady, Madam Theresa set up the Mother to Child Community Development Foundation to help in the proper development of children and prevent mother-to-child transmission of diseases.
