End of an era as ‘The Doctor’ says farewell to MotoGP
It’s the countdown to the Valencia MotoGP this weekend as nine-time world champion Valentino Rossi prepares for the final race of his MotoGP career. Showmax Pro subscribers in Kenya, Ghana and Nigeria can look forward to the much-anticipated race broadcasting live from Spain this Sunday, 14 November. After 25 years of racing, the Italian is expected to bid farewell to his fans, walking away with a record-breaking 89 wins.
While he hasn’t had the best season this year, Rossi is arguably one of the best and most influential racers the world has seen in the past two decades. Not only has he had the most podiums (189), Rossi has had podium finishes in 21 consecutive seasons since his debut in the year 2000. His other MotoGP achievements include:
-
Most MotoGP entries (373)
-
Most race entries with a single manufacturer (Yamaha – 274)
-
Most races finishing in the points (324)
-
Most consecutive podium finishes (23 in total between 2002 and 2004)
Showmax Pro subscribers won’t be missing out on any MotoGP action this weekend as the streaming service is set to bring the race live on Sunday, where fans can tune in at 13h55 WAT (West Africa Time) and 15h55 EAT (East Africa Time).
