Fameye says he may not be ready yet for an audience such as AfroNation Portugal

Award-winning Ghanaian musician, Peter Famiyeh Bozah, better known by the stage name Fameye, has stated that he would decline any invitation to perform at Afronation, a prominent Afrobeats music festival because he is not prepared, and doesn’t have the audience.

According to him, he believes in delivering top-notch performances and does not want to compromise the quality of his shows especially when it happens to be an international event. Fameye further opined that most of  the so-called Ghanaian international artsites are unable to make the numbers when they travel to perform due to unpreparedness.

Speaking on the Day Show with Berla Mundi, the ‘Praise’ hitmaker said,

”Right now like if you call me for Afronation Portugal I mean I won’t go. Because I don’t have the people there. I want to work more so when I go I will relate and I know I have certain people there that I have matched up to their energy.”

He continued,”What am I going to do there? They dont know me, because I feel I have to prepare and I am not prepared. Even most of our so-called international artistes are unable to make the numbers when they travel out to peform. I won’t mention names. From 2019  I have performed in Canada, USA, Germany and I have followed a couple of musicians for shows outside, when we are singing only few Ghanaians sing along. They are even shy. Why do you think people keep cancelling their show….they dont come.”

Fameye to a greater extent adressed the comparison people make between Ghanaian and Nigerian aristes. According to him, Nigerians made a conscious effort to change the world’s perception about them through music with the help of promoters and investors but the case is not the same in Ghana.
