Award-winning rapper, Sarkodie has shared a beautiful tribute to his lawyer, Cynthia Quarcoo Jumo Esq who passed away on Wednesday, June 21, 2023.

The news of the renowned lawyer who owned CQ Legal, a boutique law firm based in Accra hit the entertainment fraternity really hard, and has left those she worked and interacted with heartbroken.

In a heartfelt post via his Insta stories, Sarkodie shared the journey of their beautiful friendship and work relationship.

“First time we met I knew you were supposed to be part of this journey. You knew everything about me it almost felt like you were stalking me and I was moved and I said to my self “now that’s my lawyer!” From our first meeting, we’ve never been apart till date … So many memories it’s going to be real hard to get over this,” he wrote.

Sarkodie who affectionately referred to her as “Mama Cee” shared that he was not aware of her illness, as she kept that information from him because she did not want to feel bad for her.

“One of the few people I open up to. Mama Cee!! At least you should’ve told me you aren’t feeling well but knowing you I know you hate us feeling bad for you. You left exactly how you wanted ( strong ) a classic Mama C,” he added.

He continued; “This is going to be a very difficult one for all of us but I guess that’s the price to pay when you open up to love . It was unusual I hadn’t heard from you in these few days because knowing my mama Cee she will be the first person to text me worried then tease me … sent you a WhatsApp asking ” Mama C Na mentee wonka oo ©” but after several hours seeing two ticks I felt something was wrong then they broke the news to me. We know what you would love for all of us (to be strong ) we will try of us ( to be strong ) we will try Mama C! J. Condolences to the family and friends especially the children… let’s stay strong.”

Before her demise, Cynthia Quarcoo, worked closely with Sarkodie’s as his lawyer. She was the founder of Africa 1 Media, a talent management and public relations firm that have worked with several Ghanaian musicians. She represented some top names in entertainment including Reggie Rockstone,  Stonebwoy, Rocky Dawuni, Edem, Stephanie Benson, Samini among others. She also served as a legal advisor to the Musicians Union of Ghana, a pro bono role she held for two years.
