Ghanaian Sprinter Joseph Amoah Breaks Ghana’s 200m Indoor National Record

Ghanaian sprinter Joseph Amoah has broken the 200m indoor national record with a sizzling 20.57 secs at the 2022 Boston University Invite.

Amoah’s time is ranked number 1 in Africa and 5th in the world as of February 5th, 2022.

The 25-year-old shattered the Ghana 200m indoor national with a time of 20.57 seconds in the final to win the men’s race at Boston, MA.

Another Ghanaian sensational sprinter Owusu-Antwi Martin also placed third in 21.44 seconds.

Amoah now holds three (3) national records: indoor 200m, outdoor 200m, and 4x100m.

It is a good start to the season for the 25-year-old Coppin State University alumnus who will hope to make a bigger impact this year following a decent 2021.

With the World Championships to come in Eugene, USA in July and the Commonwealth Games to follow immediately after that, 2022 is set to be a big year for the former Prempeh College student.
