Ghana's Grace Asibi wins award at International Designer League, in Dubai

Ghanaian fashion designer, Grace Asibi has won the Ground Breaker of The Year award at the second season of the International Designer League season held in Dubai, in March 2023. Grace Asibi is the CEO of Einstein Royalties (ER) fashion brand.

The International Designer League second edition took place at the Shangri La Hotel, Dubai. The event featured the latest collections from some of the most talented designers in the world, including Vinay Kalyani, Grace Asibi, Robert Naorem, Royal Vogue, Walid Attallah, and Santoba Tailors.

The event was graced by two distinguished guests of honour — Zakia Almeri, a renowned fashion influencer, and Alhaji Ahmed Ramadan, ambassador of the Embassy of the Republic of Ghana to the UAE.

The event was attended by a diverse group of people from various sectors, including fashion influencers, designers, industry experts, and fashion enthusiasts. The attendees were impressed by the unique and creative designs showcased at the event. Ali said: “We strive to provide a platform for emerging and established designers to showcase their talent to a diverse audience, and we are thrilled to have achieved our objective.”

The International Designer League’s second edition has become a global platform for designers to showcase their collections to a diverse audience. The event’s success is a testimony to the hard work, dedication, and talent of the designers, the producer, and the entire team behind the event.

Grace Asibi is no stranger to news headlines. Between 2005 and 2006,  her name was synonymous with the East Legon Cocaine Scandal leading to the setting up of the famous Chief Justice Theodora Georgina Wood’s Committee to investigate MV Benjamin and East Legon messing cocaine in the police custody.

Grace Asibi tells her side of the story in her book, “THE COVER-UP : How I became a scapegoat in cocaine scandal“. In the 85 pages book, Grace names and outlines the roles some prominent personalities in government and the security services play in the scandal.
