Maradona Yeboah Adjei, better known by his stage names Guru/NKZ, has recently explained the reasons behind his ‘pull back’ from active music.
Famed for releasing multiple hits in a year, the ‘Lapaz Toyota’ hitmaker revealed that he is schooling, adding that “I was also battling with my own demons during that period [of absence].

He stated that, “When you have high expectations and you have a vision, and things don’t go how you want, you get a bit slow. The COVID pandemic also really slowed me a lot,” Guru revealed. “Because it was as though I was stuck in the US.”

According to the Chief Executive Officer of NKZ Music, he had wanted to find ways to keep his fans ‘fulfilled’ and ‘grounded’ irrespective of the daunting challenges but unfortunately, it wasn’t happening. Due to this, he added, he was discouraged and reasoned: “No, I’m not doing this anymore.”

Repetition was giving me the same results and I don’t like that. It was becoming normal something was wrong, and I said: ‘Let me move back’.”
