The National theatre on Tuesday, February 14 was inundated with a heavy air of love, affection and happiness as 30 couples declared their unanimous decision to spend their lives together. Occurring through the only known mass wedding in the sub region, the Happy FM Valentine Mass wedding celebration aptly celebrated the 14th of February as the Day of Love. As the 7th edition of this Valentine’s Day, it was only natural that the initiative which started out as a Corporate Social responsibility escalates into a much-anticipated national event with individuals from all the different regions participating. The ceremony which pulled out all the stops for the couples had the venue beautifully decorated with ushers and a reception after, making it nothing short of a dream wedding for the wedded couples. Present to support the participants were over 1500 of their families and friends in addition to well wishers.  The event which was organized free for the couples had a star studded line up to cement its already colourful ambience. Officiating the ceremony was award winning and acclaimed founder of Royal House Chapel, Rev. Sam Korankye Ankrah whose thought-engaging sermon was nothing short of inspiring.  Gospel superstars like the Daughters of Glorious Jesus, Gifty Osei, Ohemaa Mercy, Selina Boateng were also on hand to make the day a truly special one. Highlighting the day’s importance, General Manager of Happy FM, Charles Osei Asibey said “Valentine’s day is not only about love, it’s about sharing and caring. This is why we are sharing in the day of these beautiful couples and show them and the Ghanaian community at large that we care. We are so thrilled with the reception and as usual the numbers were staggering but we could only pick 30 couples to ensure that the optimum experience is had. This event is a personal one for everyone involved from the couples to the organizers and that is what makes it truly unique. This is not a show, it’s an intimate moment between two people and we are privileged to be given access to that experience.” The couples and their families were treated to an equally breathtaking wedding reception for their close family and friends at the Cleaver House after the ceremony in the evening. Food and drinks as well as good music crowned the day’s celebration making it a truly unforgettable event. This year’s ceremony was sponsored by Cake Techniks, Annointed Lady Fabrics, 2nd Image, Little Grown Up Fashions, Danny’s Décor and Bridal Home, Aliquah Home of Fashions, Accra Neoplan Drivers Union, VM Enterprise, TT Brothers. TV Africa, Daily Guide, Flex Newspaper were the media partners for the event.]]>
