I am a child of God, I don’t believe in depression- Kwabena Kwabena
Ghanaian highlife artiste, Kwabena Kwabena has expressed his opinion about how Ghanaians perceive mental health issues. In an interview with AmeyawTV’s Zeinat the “Kwadede” singer, stated that
“We play with a lot in Ghana, there are people going through a lot which we actually punish them for their problems/ trauma instead of helping them.”
Answering the question of whether he has ever found himself in a depressing state, he responded:
“I have gone through moments but I wouldn’t call it depression because I am a child of God. But I have gone through moments where I needed Men of God to actually counsel me.”
“It is sad to suffer something you are innocent of, it is a situation which is so difficult to handle. You only need God and people who love to help you” he added.
