The C.E.O of the Kantanka Group of Companies, Kwadwo Safo Jnr has revealed that he was never contacted about the historic “Accra to London” expedition.

According to Kwadwo Safo Jnr, he would have loved for his brand to be a part of the historic expedition, however, his team or whoever was contacted did not relay the information to him.

“Was never contacted ooo. Hmm. A few heads will roll since it’s a Monday. This is something I would have loved to be part of,” he tweeted Monday.

His tweet comes following the successful 10,000km drive from Accra to London carried out by Wanderlust Ghana, a group of Philanthropic and Tourism enthusiasts.

The group made the journey using five different Ghanaian registered vehicles; a Mercedez Benz G-Wagon, two Toyota Landcruisers (V8), Lexus RX 350 and a Ford F150, Raptor.

When news of the expedition made it online, some social media users had expressed their shock that a Ghanaian automobile brand had missed out on the opportunity to showcase their brand of vehicles to the world.

It was alleged that the Kantanka automobile company was contacted to be a part of the expedition, however, they failed to show up at the preliminary meetings prior to the journey.

In an interview on TV3 New Day, Richard Anim, one of the members of Wanderlust Ghana, revealed they had contacted the Kantanka company, however, they go no response.

“We approached Kantanka but they didn’t even give us the time of day or give us the audience, they didn’t bother with the meeting,” he pointed out.

He also shared that Kantanka was not the only company who refused to collaborate on the historic event. According to him, they had the same experience with Nissan Motors.

“We approached Nissan, in fact, Kwabena Peprah bought a Nissan strictly for this purpose to incentivise and get us some sponsorship but they were like nah they’ll offer a discount but not sponsorship,” he stated.
