One of Ghana’s sensational female gospel artist, Celestine Donkor, has revealed that she was the first woman to organise a gospel concert some 13 years ago.

According to her, she had over 2000 people attend her first concert even though such event at the time was not common. Celestine attributed the large number to the fact that it was the first time a female was hosting such a program and how her team went all out on the publicity of the concert.

Speaking in an interview on the Prime Morning show on Friday, March 3, 2023, the ‘abgebolo’ hitmaker made known that she had only one single prior to the event and had to sing songs from other artists along with other public domain songs. ‘‘It was interesting to start an event on such a note. The only song I had at that time was supernatural, but it went well,’’ She noted.

Per the gospel diva, as a worship leader at church, she was worried about how people usually miss the worship section at church on Sundays due to lateness and that made her come up with Celestial Praise. This, according to her, will make people have ample time to praise and worship God.

Meanwhile, the 10th edition of Celestial Praise came off at the Victory Bible Church yesterday, March 6, 2023. The event, saw a number of Ghanaians including colleagues of Celestine in the entertainment industry join her to honour the name of God. Some gospel artists spotted at the event were Ceccy Twum, Ohemaa Mercy, Nana Yaw Asare, Irene logan amongst many others.
