Inspiring: ETV's visually impaired newscaster wins radio and TV honours
Paul Anomah Kordieh, Etv Ghana’s visually impaired newscaster has been given an honorary award at the recently held Radio and Television Personality awards. Paul was recognized for inspiring Ghanaians and for his exemplary pursuit in broadcast journalism, in spite of his condition which would have ordinarily been a barrier to realizing his passion for broadcasting. Receiving the award, the obviously-thrilled Paul thanked the organizers for the award and expressed heart-felt thanks to Etv Ghana and the Global Media Alliance Group for giving him the opportunity. In an interview, Paul shared that “I owe it all to my MDs at GMA who gave me the rare opportunity and saw beyond my condition and recognized my potential. Working at Etv is truly fulfilling; my colleagues and my bosses are very supportive and readily provide all the equipment I need to work. “As has been widely touted, disability definitely does not mean inability. Every physically challenged individual should be given the opportunity to prove themselves if they are qualified and passionate about their careers and their interests; they should not be dismissed on the mere basis of their physical disabilities” he continued. The Station also won two awards; it’s Late Nite Celebrity show was adjudged the Entertainment Program of the year and Bismark Brown was also awarded the Current Affairs Show host of the year. ]]>
