John Mahama advised me to stay away from politics -Lilwin reveals

Renowned Kumawood actor, Kwadwo Nkansah, popularly known as Lilwin has revealed that former President John Dramani Mahama advised him to stay away from politics.

Speaking on Oyerepa TV’s entertainment show ‘Cinifie’, the founder of ‘WIZZY Empire’ explained that his vision was to establish a school, and he did not want his brand to be attached to any political party.

“I don’t do politics, I am an asset to Ghana, I have love for everyone, both parties belongs to all of us, I vowed never to enter into politics because I envisioned to establish a school and in Ghana if you’re attached to a particular party, the other does not like you, I didn’t want one particular party’s kids coming to my school because I support them, my school is for all,” he said.

According to Lilwin, who’s gearing up for the launch of his “Mr President” movie, he also got  advice from former President John Mahama to never accept any form of payment in exchange for his support towards any political party.

 “I had the opportunity to speak with NDC and NPP members during the 2016 campaign session. Ex-President John Mahama is the one who inspired me to forgo accepting any payment to support a political party. I’ve noticed that many celebrities are being paid to used for political campaigns, but I didn’t call you here because of the campaign,You are blessed to be young, and the future holds a lot for you,” he added.

The former President’s visit to the actor a couple of weeks ago raised eyebrows, however, Lilwin has clarified the purpose of the visit stating that the former president actually came to offer guidance.

“John Mahama did not come to me again for the campaign, He came to encourage me and advise me not to abandon the movie job. He said I am not an artist who depends on others for money and that I should continue, he even asked me to share copies of my new film, ‘Mr. President’ with the leaders of this country, including him,” he added.
