Ugandan hip hop sensation and ONE8 star, Navio had a successful concert called the Nawuliranga (I Will Always Listen) Concert at the UMA Show grounds in Kampala, on Saturday.  Navio’s event set a new standard for hip hop shows in Africa as it featured amazing production that included a massive multi levelled stage, fascinating lights, lazers, back drop led screens with stunning visuals, pyrotechnics and special effects provided by Fenon Entertainment.  The well attended event was managed by Talent 256 International which is also the management company for Navio.

The show featured guest artists; DJ Aludah, Lilian and Jackie from Blu3, and Amani (Kenya) and JK (Zambia) from the ONE 8 Supergroup who warmed up the crowd before Navio took the stage.  Navio came on stage after a thrilling audio visual introduction and performed more than 20 songs live alongside the Soul Beat Africa Band.  The live band element was a nice touch for a hip hop show where artists usually perform with a DJ; this clearly sets Navio in a class apart as a true live musician.

Navio took his fans a on a musical journey through all his best hits from his Klear Kut days to his latest hits like Raw, Nawuliranga, and Ngalo. The visuals, dance choreography and costumes were all themed according to song he was performing.  Navio also performed many of his collaborations with guest artists Michael Ross, Maurice Kirya, Enigma, Keko, Unique and The Myth and JB of Klear Kut.  He also performed the African smash hit single “Hands Across The World” alongside Amani and JK from the Airtel ONE 8 project (the hit song produced by the legendary R Kelly and released by Rockstar 4000 / Sony Music)

2010 was a huge year for Navio as he was signed to the major record label Rockstar 4000/Sony Music, he was chosen to be in Africa’s Supergroup called the ONE8 project and he won 2 PAM awards for Best Hip Hop Artist and Best Video.  2011 is off to a great start with his latest international collaboration “Stuttering Remix” with Def Jam’s Fefe Dobson just being released. His new single “Keep Moving” is on high rotation on MTV Base. Now with the Nawuliranga Concert done Navio is set to tour the USA, Europe, Asia, and ten African countries in the next few months.
