Nigerian Idol Season 2 starts showing on Viasat 1, February 26

The ongoing second season of the Nigerian Idol singing competition will start showing in Ghana on Viasat 1, on Sunday, February 26 at 8 pm. It is the second Idol franchise for the country as it was already part of Idols West Africa which was also shot and produced in Nigeria. The show started with its first season in 2010 and climaxed on March 2011 with 26 year old Yeka Onka being announced as the first Nigerian Idol over favorite-to-win, Naomi Ebiama. She was awarded the sum of 7.5 Million Naira, a recording contract with Sony, a car and an all expense paid trip to South Africa. Prior to receiving a Golden Ticket in Lagos Yeka unsuccessfully auditioned on two other occasions for the show. The hosts for Nigerian Idol Season 2 are Tiwa Savage and Ill Rymz while the Judges are Jeffery Daniels, Yinka Davies and Charly Boy.]]>
