No show from Sista Afia and more catfights, as cast of ‘GH Queens’ gather for ‘Reunion show’
Just as it was reported during the premiere event for ‘GH Queens’ sometime in April, some stars from the pseudo-reality TV show were again missing from the Reunion show, which started airing on Friday. Yes, the fiesty Sista Afia and Fantana will not be making an appearance on the three-part special reunion show on Akwaaba Magic (DStv channel 150).
Although I didn’t watch any episode of the entire season, the Reunion show caught my attention and I wanted to find out what the show had been about, and if like most reunion shows in the reality TV world, this too could pack in the right dose of drama.
I soon realized that a lot of the news that made headlines in recent times about Sista Afia and Efia Odo, as well as Fantana and CocoTreyy were because of the filming of “GH Queens’. GH QUEENS is a multi-camera reality show which follows four fiery young women gracing the Ghanaian entertainment scene- not only with their crafts, but also with their widely publicized social media presence, and all the gossip surrounding their lives.
The show focuses on the careers, friendships, and social network controversies of Efia Odo, CocoTreyy, Sista Afia, and Abyna Marie, as well as a few others. Throughout the season, alliances were formed, and collaborations were thrown down the drain. There was a betrayal of close friends, and a lot of catfights in between as these ‘queens’ chase their dreams and try to win the war of brands, words, swag, and ego.

On part 1 of the reunion show, the issue of Efia Odo and her former P.A, MykCute resurfaced with a lot of tension in the studio as the two parties retold their stories. Efia Odo accused Mykcute of not being trustworthy and being valueless to her, while Mykcute pointed out that Efia Odo never really paid him for his services. As host of the Reunion Show, Bernard Fiifi Yankey, tried to control tempers, it was clear that those two wanted nothing to do with each other.
The next segment moved to the beef between Efia Odo and Sista Afia. Efia claimed that she crashed Sista Afia’s birthday party by grabbing the opportunity to attend the party of DJ Mensa, which was at the same venue. According to Efia Odo, she wanted to see if Sista Afia could make good her promise to beat her up whenever she saw her in person.
Efia Odo had the opportunity to laugh at Sista Afia on the show saying things like “She went from Lippo to hippo” and “She needs a stylist”.
Another thing that came up for discussion on the show was an unsuccessful collaboration between Fantana and CocoTreyy. CocoTreyy’s manager, Dolly said on the show that the collaboration failed because of the unprofessional and rude behaviour of Kofi, Fantana’s then manager. Things got heated between the two managers when Kofi joined the conversion by phone.

The last segment of the show saw Abyna Marie and Efia Odo faceoff about a photo shoot that was organized by the latter. According to Abyna, Efia was rude to her on the set of the shoot. Efia Odo insisted she wasn’t rude but rather Abyna was too emotional. Things got heated fast with the episode ending, just when Abyna Maria threatened and aimed at slapping Efia Odo!
Well, let’s see how the reunion unfolds in the remaining three parts….The reunion show will also stream on Showmax from June 24.
