Ohemaa Mercy reveals how God guided her through divorce
Ghanaian gospel musician Ohemaa Mercy has revealed the surprising reason behind her divorce, attributing it to divine guidance.
In an interview with Cookie Tee on TV3, she shared that during the COVID-19 pandemic, she sought direction from God through intense prayer and fasting on the mountains. She eventually felt the Holy Spirit guiding her to end her marriage to fully devote herself to her ministry. “I give God the glory because I am divorced, but this is the time I have seen the hand of God so strong on my life, even more than when I was married,” she said.
Ohemaa Mercy also mentioned that her ex-husband supported the decision, agreeing that it was necessary for her to experience God’s guidance more fully. The two remain on good terms and continue to co-parent their children, with regular communication and mutual support. “My priority is to honour God, and that’s why we decided on this path,” she added.
