Prioritize faithfulness over fame – Nii Okai to young gospel artistes
Renowned Ghanaian gospel musician, Nii Okai, has some valuable counsel for emerging gospel artists: He advises them against seeking fame, as it can potentially hinder their progress in the industry.
Speaking in a recent interview with Graphic Showbiz, Nii Okai, renowned for songs like ‘Moko Bɛ,’ ‘Yesu Hi,’ and ‘Reign Forever,’ encourages upcoming gospel acts to stay true to themselves and avoid competing with others.
He firmly believes that genuine success in gospel music is a reward for faithfulness rather than the pursuit of fame. He emphasizes the importance of gospel artists investing in young talents, stating that when you invest in others on behalf of God, He will eventually reciprocate by investing in your journey.
Nii Okai is set to celebrate 20 years in the music industry with a concert called “Mokobe@20,” which will take place at the ICGC Zoe Temple in Tema on Sunday, September 17. The lineup includes artists like Joe Mettle, KODA, Eugene Zuta, MOGmusic, Kofi Karikari, Naa Mercy, David Osabutey, and Lordina the Soprano.
