Nigerian music star Paul Okoye, professionally known as Rudeboy has officially announced that PSquare, the iconic music duo he formed with his twin brother Peter Okoye, has broken up once again.

In a recent interview, Paul revealed that the split stems from irreconcilable differences that have resurfaced despite previous efforts to mend their relationship.

During a recent interview with City FM in Lagos, Rudeboy verified that the group has disbanded once againĀ after Peter said he was no longer interested in the group.

Paul responded negatively when questioned about the current status of P-Square and expressed his reluctance to go into details of their dispute. However, he shared that the group had creative differences over how they wanted to make their music.

“He sent me a message that he was no longer interested. He told me to my face that he wants to quit,”Ā Paul said confirming the split.

He further shared that his twin brother Peter requested that they don’t make the split public, a decision he wasn’t comfortable with because of the chances of being labeled the bad person should he choose to reactivate his solo career.

“When I go solo, they will call me a bad person that’s why I need to start speaking so the fans can know what’s going on,”Ā Paul says on his decision to go public.

TheĀ ‘Reason with me’ singer also accused Peter of petitioning him and their older brother Jude Okoye to the EFCC, who invited him for questioning. However, Paul stated that the EFCC investigated and cleared him of any financial misappropriation.

PSquare, renowned for their catchy hits and energetic performances, first captivated audiences in the early 2000s. Their harmonious blend of Afrobeat and contemporary R&B earned them a massive following both in Nigeria and internationally. However, behind the scenes, the brothers faced mounting tensions that led to their initial breakup in 2017.

After a brief reunion in 2021, fans were hopeful that PSquare had overcome their differences. The duo released new music and performed together, rekindling the magic that once made them a household name. Unfortunately, Paul disclosed that the underlying issues never fully resolved, leading to another painful separation.
