Raquel and friends rock +233 for love!

Fast growing Ghanaian singer, Raquel was joined by her friends to thrill patrons at a Valentine’s Day special at  the +233 Jazz Bar and Grill, which is fast becoming Accra’s favourite hangout for live music. The simple yet sophisticated event was a smooth way to celebrate the Valentine as lovers and friends grooved to some classic love songs performed by Raquel, Sandra Houson, Bertha and +233’s resident band. Raquel sang from the repertoire of legends such as Marvin Gaye, Kojo Anwti and Stevie Wonder. She also performed some of the most-loved love songs by the late Whitney Houston as a tribute to singer and actress. She described Whitney Houston as a great inspiration for her music career. In an exciting twist, Raquel called on singer, Stephanie Benson (who was in the audience enjoying the music with her friends) to join her on stage for an unrehearsed performance of Whitney’s hit, ‘Exhale (Shoop Shoop)’. Raquel also performed some of her own songs, such as ‘Odo’, ‘Sweetio’ and her latest single, ‘Set Me Free’. There was also a dash of hip-hop as Raquel joined Trigmatic and EL for separate performances. ]]>
