RASTINO ADVOCATES FOR GLOBAL MUSIC REACH

Fast-rising Afro-beats/ Afro-pop artist Rastino recently shared his perspective on the global music scene during an appearance on the Afro Section of ShoBiz TV.
Known for his energetic performances and catchy tunes, Rastino took the opportunity to discuss the importance of transcending linguistic boundaries in music.
During the interview, Rastino emphasized that language should not be a barrier for an artist aspiring to reach international audiences.

“With the availability of technology today, artists have the tools to connect with fans worldwide, regardless of the language they sing in,” he stated. “Music is a Global language, and it’s about the vibe, the rhythm, and the feeling it evokes, thus the side name he bares as ‘Global Boy’”

Rastino highlighted the role of social media platforms, streaming services, and digital marketing in allowing artists from non-English-speaking backgrounds to reach a broader audience. He pointed to the success of numerous African artists who have gained international acclaim despite singing in local dialects or lesser-known languages. “The key is authenticity and staying true to your roots,” Rastino added. “When you create something genuine, it resonates with people everywhere.”
The young artist’s remarks reflect a growing trend in the music industry where linguistic diversity is celebrated, and artists are increasingly breaking into international markets without conforming to a single language or style. Rastino’s own music is a blend of Afro-beats and Afro-pop, incorporating elements of his cultural background while appealing to global listeners.

The Afro-beats and Afro-pop genres, which originated in West Africa and Sun-Sahara Africa, respectively, have since gained international recognition. They continue to thrive as new artists like Rastino bring fresh energy and innovation to the music industry and “though the genres are up swiftly adopted by foreign counterparts, it will always be an African originated genre which will forever be through the spirits of its founder/ originator “Fela kuti” and it current propunders including myself” says Rastino.

Rastino again assured his fans and followers of staying true and faithful to his all time management despite being open to working with other record labels, he assured of being the difference and setting a pace to erase that mentality of all or most artist ‘ for the lack of a better word’ dropping-off management and sponsors when they the artist feel they could do better with other management, record label or sponsors but Rastino says “so let me exemplify. Though it’s a problem in our industry, I want to be the difference. Staying loyal to my management.”

Before the interview would come to an end, the host of the Afro Section show push Rastino to the corner, starting with how Ghana’s award system or schemes is faring and Rastino replies with “it good for works and talents to be identified and recognized but I beliefs there could be more improvements and more to be done.”

The host secondly ask Rastino if the just ended 2024 VGMA now TGMA was fair in giving the artist of the year to ‘Stone Bwoy’, Rastino refused to give a straight answer but said “ all artist in that category deserved it since they all worked hard” but the host wanted a definite answer but Rastino stayed by this previous response “that they all deserved the award”. though it was a slight escape, the host promised to put him back on once again.

After a run trough his new music video “WHY” the conversation took a diferent turn on his music and future plans and projects, Rastikno says he is not ready to back down but wiling to take up any challenge and ready to go the extra mile to fulkly gain that Global recognition and work with the greatest of all tik,e in the music scene.

Rastino announce about his current Accra tour he is embarking and the Nigerian tour he would be doing soon as well as some other project which will surely gain him that Global attention he seeks to gain.
