GHMBH pic2After a successful debut in 2009, the Ghana’s Most Beautiful Holland (GHMBH) beauty pageant returns to Amsterdam with expected excitement and thrills on November 6. The event will be held at the Bijlmersporthal in Amsterdam, where eight ladies will compete for the title and mouthwatering prizes.

According to a statement by Stitching SAM’en, organizers of the event, the MC for the night will be Kofi Okyere Darko (KOD), with performance from Ghana Music Award winner Sakodie and other Holland based Ghanaian entertainers.

GHMBH’s vision is to highlight and acknowledge the intellectual capabilities of young females of Ghanaian descent within The Netherlands.  The event aims to bring out the core qualities, talents and most importantly the knowledge of Ghanaian history and culture among the 8 young finalists. The pageant is not constrained to mere physical appearances, but also to the intellectual capabilities of the contestants.

The Ghana’s Most Beautiful Holland finale is categorized into four main parts namely: talent performance, presentation on a chosen topic, exhibition of traditional wear, and Q&A session on topics ranging from history, sociopolitical and geo-cultural topics. The total score resulting from these segments together with votes from the public (online voting on GHMBH website) would determine who wears the crown.

The winners of the Ghana’s Most Beautiful Holland Beauty Pageant will win an educational scholarship worth over 10,000 Euros. These scholarships will offer the contestants a chance to enhance their education. The prices include: First prize – Scholarship worth of € 2000 (Plus a return ticket to Ghana), Second prize – Scholarship worth of € 1500 (Plus driving lessons), Third prize – Scholarship worth of € 1000 (Plus a spa treatment).
