ties that bindIn recent times, African Cinema has been receiving a lot of international appeal after years of neglect. International filmmakers who have for a long time searched for niche have discovered the cinematic appeal of the dramatic African continent; shooting with high budgets, the latest Hollywood technology and Hollywood stars. Joining the new wave is Ghanaian international filmmaker Leila Djansi, who continues to make a statement with her craft following the critical success of her movies, ‘I Sink of a Well’ and ‘Sinking Sands’

Here is a sneak peek into Leila’s much anticipated drama, ‘Ties That Bind’ starring Kimberly Elise, Randall Batinkoff, Omotola Jolade Ekeinde, Ama Abebrese, Ebbe Bassey and John Dumelo. The international star studded drama, shot on location in Ghana, with additional scenes filmed in Los Angeles County California tells the ensemble story of three women from different backgrounds, bound together by a common tragedy – the loss of a child.  In a destined meeting in a small village, the women journey together to redemption, love, life and forgiveness as they renovate a haunted, dilapidated clinic for the villagers.

Written and Directed by award-winning Leila Djansi, the film follows Djansi’s mission to tell social issue stories that will encourage change. Hollywood stars Randall Batinkoff and the amazing Kimberly Elise, moved by the story bring international flavor and appeal to this much anticipated drama.
