Ghanaian highlife musician, Kwaisey Pee has said that there are no celebrities in Ghana.
Speaking to KMJ on Hitz FM, the “Mehia Odo” hit maker stressed that Ghanaian entertainers don’t have what it takes to be called celebrities.
“We don’t have celebrities in Ghana. I have lived in the Western world and when we talk about celebrities we know. It’s the other way round here. I don’t consider myself as one. I wanna get to where they will call you that. It’s self-professed in Ghana. There is no celebrity in Ghana. They don’t have what it takes,” he said.
Kwaisey Pee however mentioned that the only people who have attained his definition of celebrity status include some popular pastors and Menzgold C.E.O, Nana Appiah Mensah who had a private jet many other luxurious cars.
He added that “artistes are only trying to catch up the celebrity status”.
