Vodafone Icons judges disappointed with public voting as Ruff Road bite the dust!

Published

on

ruffThe Vodafone Icons judges have registered their disappointed with the way Ghana voted during the first eviction show of the Icons: Mixed Edition on Sunday evening.  Host, Benny Blanco announced the ‘Bottom 2’ as Black N Peach and Ruff Road to the amazement of judges, Appietus, Gena West and Ms Naa. An almost speechless Ms Naa said she was disappointed with the way Ghana voted because neither of the two groups deserved to be in the bottom.  She said she loved both groups but if she had to be true to hear heart, Black N Peach has more presence on stage and she liked their vocals better. So she voted to save Black N Peach. Appietus felt that Ruff Road was a bit pitchy the previous week while Black N Peach was on point and so he also voted to keep Black N Peach in the competition. Gena also said she was disappointed with the way Ghana voted but felt Black N Peach had been awesome from the first week and so voted for them as well. The judges advised Ruff Road not to give up on their dreams even though they had been evicted from the competition. Ruff Road commented that they had enjoyed the whole experience and it had been exciting getting to know each other and learning from the voice coach, music director and the judges. They thanked their fans also before walking away from the stage. Meanwhile Sunday evening’s African music theme, saw the remaining 7 groups performing songs from all over Africa including hits from the likes of Magic System, Yvonne Chaka Chaka, Salif Keita and others. Voting is 100% public and the public can vote by texting ‘group name’ to short code 1738 across all networks. The highest texter at the end of the season also gets to win a Kia Rio, courtesy Rana Motor, so get texting! If you missed the performance on Sunday across the various television networks, you can always watch the group performances on www.facebook.com/Vodafoneghana    ]]>
