A video has surfaced on social media showing how some policemen manhandled comic actor Funny Face before arresting him in Kasoa last Monday.

Comedian Funny Face was on Monday arrested by the police in Kasoa for an unlawful discharge of firearms at a drinking pub.

Speaking to JoyNews’ Richard Kojo Nyarko, the Central Regional Police PRO, DSP Irene Serwaa Oppong said someone had reported Funny Face for causing a disturbance in a bar.

She stated that their investigations reveal the actor, born Benson Oduro Boateng, had gone to the bar where a misunderstanding ensued between him and the owner.

Although the two were separated, Funny Face went home, returned with a gun and fired warning shots, she added.

After arrest, the comedian also reported the owner for assault after sustaining injuries during the fight.

“Currently Funny Face is in the custody of the police will be granted bail today. The drinking spot operator is also in the custody of police and we are investigating him for assault,” DSP Oppong added

After being granted bail on Tuesday evening, Funny Face took to social media this morning to accuse the police of maltreating him while in their custody.

The ‘Çhorkor Trotro’ actor claimed he was beaten by the policemen who came in to arrest him when he had just stopped by a pharmacy to buy drugs and was later on beaten at the police station with handcuffs and others.

While some people doubted his story, a video has emerged online showing how the police manhandled him before taking him into custody.
